Description

JACKSUN NOVA 309Cb is a rutile-coated stainless steel electrode conforming to AWS A5.4 E309Cb-16. It is designed for welding dissimilar metals (carbon steel/low alloy steel to stainless steels) and for stainless steel overlays where niobium (Cb, columbium) stabilization is required. The addition of niobium (stabilizer) improves resistance to intergranular corrosion and carbide precipitation during service at elevated temperatures. Typical applications include welding of stabilized stainless steels (e.g., 347) and buffer layers prior to stainless cladding.(As per AWS A5.4 E309Cb-16)
